Daily Dose: Rams with Second-Toughest Schedule in Division

This offseason, theRams.com will be taking a look around the internet for the top Rams headlines of the day. Here's a look at what's out there for Thursday, July 5, about your Los Angeles Rams:

Ranking the NFC West Schedule

CBS Sports takes a look at the schedule of NFC West teams heading in to 2018. John Breech crafted a "formula" consisting of three parts to rank the schedules.

  1. Look at each individual game on each team's schedule and ranked it based on difficulty
  2. Super Bowl odds
  3. First three games of the season

Based on this formula, the Rams have the second most-difficult schedule in the division with a rating of 98.50. Here is how the other teams panned out:

  1. Arizona Cardinals 105.75
  2. Los Angeles Rams 98.50
  3. Seattle Seahawks 97.25
  4. San Francisco 49ers 96.25

The "easiest stretch" of Los Angeles' schedule according to the formula, comes in Week 1-3 when the Rams travel to Oakland to play the Raiders on MNF then host the Cardinals and Chargers at home.

The "roughest stretch" comes when the Rams have to face Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Russell Wilson in consecutive weeks. Los Angeles will take on Green Bay (Week 8) and Seattle (Week 10) at home and travel to New Orleans in Week 9.

Suh Expected to Make Immediate Impact

PFF breaks down the 20 newcomers expected to make an immediate impact on their new teams whether they're a rookie or a newly-signed free agent.

DT Nadumkong Suh makes the list after a 90.9 grade in 2017.

"Fueling his 90.9 overall grade, Suh was exceptional both as a run defender and rushing the passer, as he ranked second in run-defense grade (92.4) and 12th in pass-rush grade (83.9) among qualifiers at his position in 2017." - Austin Gayle, PFF
