Rams cornerback Cobie Durant has been named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 7, it was announced Wednesday.
Durant was responsible for two of the four turnovers caused by Los Angeles' defense in last Sunday's 20-15 win over the Raiders. Occurring less than four minutes apart from each other in the second quarter, both directly led to points – running back Kyren Williams had a 13-yard rushing touchdown at the end of the drive following Durant's interception, while safety Kam Curl scooped up Durant's forced fumble and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown.
This marks the first NFC Defensive Player of the Week honor of Durant's career.
