As expected, running back Todd Gurley and safety Lamarcus Joyner are inactive for Sunday's game against the 49ers with their respective injuries. Gurley (knee) and Joyner (ankle) were declared out on Friday.
Head coach Sean McVay said on Friday that C.J. Anderson will once again start at running back for the club. Anderson took 20 carries for 167 yards with a touchdown last week against the Cardinals — one-yard off of his single-game career high.
At safety, McVay said Blake Countess and Marqui Christian will split time filling in for Joyner.
On the other side, three of San Francisco's major offensive contributors won't play due to injury — wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, wide receiver Dante Pettis, and running back Matt Breida. Pettis and Breida were both placed on injured reserve over the weekend, with San Francisco promoting wide receiver Max McCaffrey and defensive lineman Ryan Delaire. Reserve tight end Garrett Celek is also out with a concussion.
