With the offseason program complete and Rams Training Camp presented by UNIFY Financial Credit Union starting up on July 23, it's time to look ahead. As part of the preparation for training camp, theRams.com will be spotlighting a handful of players new to the Rams' roster. Continuing the series is defensive back Darious Williams.
How He Got Here: After being released by the Jaguars, Williams signed a 3-year deal with the Rams on March 13.
What's Next: Continuing to develop his role. In one of the episodes of Behind The Grind, Shula alluded to being able to potentially use Williams differently in his second stint with the Rams compared to the way he was used in his first because of how the Jaguars asked him to play, so it will be interesting to see how that takes shape over the course of training camp.
Bet You Didn't Know: Williams' four interceptions with Jacksonville last season tied his single-season career high, which he originally set with the Rams in 2020.
Quotable: "We're going to use his strengths. It was interesting in Jacksonville watching a bunch of his tape, he played off lot. They pressured a lot. They played some more zone and stuff. He's a guy that can do it all so we'll see what we want to do and how they keep rotating. He is doing a great job so far." – Shula on May 28, on Williams' role
