The Rams used their seventh selection in the 2024 NFL Draft on Stanford kicker Joshua Karty, who was chosen in the sixth round, 209th overall.
Here's what you should know about him:
1) Training ties to a former Rams kicker
Karty trained with the same kicking specialist who works with former Rams kicker Matt Gay.
2) One of multiple Senior Bowl participants in this year's class
The annual college all-star event in Mobile, Alabama has been a good resource for the Rams, and it counted Karty among its participants this year.
Besides Karty, it also featured Rams 2024 draftees Braden Fiske, Kamren Kinchens, Brennan Jackson, Tyler Davis and Beaux Limmer.
3) Rams were his desired destination
Karty said he wanted to stay on the West Coast and liked Los Angeles. On top of that, his mom told The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue at the Senior Bowl that she hoped the Rams would pick him.
Sure enough, it worked out to both of their likings.
